As part of the implementation of Pola Puipui, Samoa’s national effort to prevent gender-based violence.

With two decades of experience working with victims of family violence, the President and founder of the SVSG Samoa (SVSG) Siliniu Lina Chang met with the GBV campaign team today to share her knowledge.

Siliniu and SVSG Legal Case Manager Ruta Masinalupe shared deep insights, particularly the unique challenges faced by nofotane women (women married into the family).

Meetings this week with key stakeholders and MWCSD staff will contribute to the national GBV behaviour change and social marketing strategy, concluding the inception phase of the project.

MWCSD and UN Women Pacific partnership on this initiative is through the Pacific Partnership to End Violence Against Women and Girls (Pacific Partnership) programme, which is primarily funded by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the European Union in the Pacific, and coordinated by UN Women Pacific and Pacific Community SPC, in strategic partnership with the Pacific Islands Forum.
