Last week, at the unveiling of “Ia Fa’ae’e Mālama: Resilient Spirit – Portraits of Samoa’s Women Warriors,” Khin Moe Aye, Chief of Field Office for UNICEF Samoa, shared a moving personal journey that ignited the room. Inspired by an article about Samoa’s first female Prime Minister, Honorable Fiame Naomi Mata’afa, she chose to make Samoa her home, drawn by the incredible resilience and strength of Samoan women.

Khin urged us all to learn from the powerful grassroots movements that empower women in Samoa, highlighting the importance of sharing these stories. At the heart of this project lies a commitment to documenting the experiences of Samoan women warriors, paving the way for future generations.

Let us honor the legacies of our women warriors and inspire the next generation of warriors.
