The Ministry in partnership with the Tautua Program initiated the Ending Violence Poem Competition, 2024. The objective for this competition was to encourage our students to learn and understand about the importance of keeping a violence-free environment, and that they too have a role to play in ending violence in Samoa. The competition invited high school/college and primary school students from all schools in Samoa. By the closing date, a total of 9 poems were received for primary school category and 12 for Colleges. The competition was judged by members of the Management who were given files of poems to be judged separately and submitted to be tallied by the Prevention and Early Intervention Unit within the division for Social Development for the final scores. This ensured that there was complete independence in the judging of the competition.

The prizes for the winners are stationery vouchers from Samoa Stationery and Books that was sponsored by the Tautua Program.
